The Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, has been established under "U.P. Pravidhic Shiksha Adhiniyam - 1962" with an object to hold the examinations of students studying in various Polytechnics affiliated to it and to award diploma to the successful students.The Board also accords affiliation to the institutions.

 The Board of technical Education has academic autonomy to prescribe the course of study and its implementation with the consent of the Government  for the functioning of the Board under the provisions of "U.P. Pravidhic Shiksha Adhiniyam - 1962" section 23 have been constituted .

The recommendations and decisions of the committee are approved in the Board meeting of Board of Technical Education U.P.
